Part of the CFIS culture is one of giving back to the community. Whether through local, national or international initiatives, our students, staff and parents contribute greatly to a variety of causes. Over the years, CFIS has supported groups such as the Calgary Food Bank, Operation Eyesight Christmas Boxes, Calgary Drop-in Centre, PGL Foundation (Dictée PGL), The Colin Glassco Foundation (Zambia) and been a leader in Unicef contributions in Alberta. Students are actively involved in all aspects of each charitable project - whether through creating artwork to sell, decorating boxes or sorting and delivering goods. School-driven travel studies to Costa Rica and Cuba involve students participating in community-based activities.
As part of our 40th anniversary celebrations in 2009/10, CFIS streamlined our charitable activities. We believe that by carefully selecting a few groups to support, we as a school can have a bigger impact.
