Art for art's sake and art as a medium for learning are key components at CFIS.

Walk the halls during the school year and you'll see a variety of 2D and 3D artwork produced by all ages of students. In fact, you only notice how amazing it all is when they take it down in late June and the walls are so bare!

Our dedicated full-time art specialists work in our two fully-equiped art studios with students to produce intricate artwork that will stand the test of time, not just the semester. Of course, the students have fun with it too! Student artwork is showcased throughout the year in the school and often seen as a critical part of the annual Music/Drama performances.

Primary & Elementary

Art is integral part of Preschool and Kindergarten programs. Starting in Grade 1, students take advantage of our full-time art specialists and our two fully-equiped art studios. We believe that artistic talents must be discovered and developed in the early school years. Artistic development, creative self-expression and cultural enrichment and fostering an appreciation for art are the major aims of our Visual Arts programme at the Primary and Elementary levels.

Junior/Senior High

Our Junior High students learn how to use traditional and contemporary tools, materials and media to express their feelings, think like artists, value the art creation and value the art form. Areas forming the framework of the junior high school art program include drawings, composition, encounters and Art History. Multimedia options allow exploration of digital artforms.
