Communication: There are basically four vehicles that are used to communicate between home and school. These are as follows:
1. The Communiqué: This is the school’s official monthly communication tool. This document is published on the 1st of every month and is the vehicle for the school to communicate school news. 2. The Daily Bulletin: Again, Mme Cendrine Tolomio will be sending home on a daily basis a bulletin. This bulletin will be used to remind parents of upcoming events such as field trips, vesti-choix, special lunches, etc.
3. Parent – Teacher: Parent – teacher communication is a two way street. Should an issue arise or either party has some great news to share, both parties are encouraged to communicate with each other. Research suggests that student achievement is enhanced when parents and teachers establish and maintain good communication. As well, each teacher from Preschool to Grade 6 has a class representative to assist them. Class representatives communicate with parents via email to enhance communication between parents, teachers and administration ans support teachers with their needs related to field trips, class events ans celebrations. With parents permission, they also put together a class list to distribute to class members.
4. Monthly Curriculum Newsletters: These bulletins are published once per month beginning October 1st, 2009. The content will focus on the programs of study – what was learned the previous month and what is planned for the next month.
